Meet Dave Schoewe
The Sound Collaborative is excited to have Dave Schoewe join its Board of Directors.
Dave and his wife, Becky, live in Rogers with their two amazing kids, Chris and Libby. Dave grew up in Baltimore, MD, where he eventually met Becky while the pair worked for Sam’s Club. They moved to NWA in 2006 to start their family.
Overall, Dave is a huge fan of music of all types—Rock, Jazz, Classical, Electronic, Musicals, live or recorded—and is a huge proponent of music and the arts—which he considers critical to childhood development.
You could say music runs in the family for Dave—with both his dad and uncle playing in bands when they were younger. His dad plays electric guitar, and his uncle plays bass.
In elementary and middle school, Dave played piano and later joined his high school orchestra as a percussionist. He also played drums with a garage band in the Baltimore, MD area.
“Ply had a couple recordings and a few live performances at schools, parties, and bars. We never made any money, but I've got some great stories to tell”, Dave shares.
Both of Dave’s kids have a serious interest in music, especially his 10 year old son Chris, who’s been taking piano lessons for 3-4 years and got his first guitar this Christmas!
Dave is excited to bring his extensive business experience with him to The Sound Collaborative, particularly his strong business acumen across multiple disciplines—including operations, merchandising, finance, strategic initiative planning, digital/eCommerce, special events, communication, mentoring, and leadership.
He enjoys finding creative ways to solve problems & make improvements.
In addition to his professional work, Dave has served in various roles for many local community-focused efforts—including the Helen Walton Children's Enrichment Center, Capital Campaign Coalition with the Scott Family Amazeum expansion, and participation in numerous fundraising activities for charities such as ALS (Walk to Defeat ALS), ADA (Kiss a Pig), and the Elza R. Tucker Elementary School PTO.
About his excitement for The Sound Collaborative, Dave shares, “The Sound Collaborative will be a perfect addition to the NWA community, with its vision to support & encourage current and blossoming musicians of all ages. I believe that music feeds the soul, and that our area is hungry for more of this type of opportunity to express ourselves creatively.”
The Sound Collaborative received its official 501c3 approval on Christmas Eve! We will soon begin seeking financial backers and in-kind partnerships.
